
SPE Baghdad Section
The Society of Petroleum Engineers – Baghdad Section was established in 2015 in Baghdad to cover the middle of Iraq with SPE Activities. SPE is the world’s largest not-for-profit technical organization concerned with the Oil and Gas Industry with approximately 156,000 members worldwide. In 2021, the section has been awarded the Section Excellence Award for 2021. This prestigious award is the second-highest honor a section may receive and is awarded to only 20% of eligible sections around the world. The award is in recognition of our section’s hard work and strong programs in industry engagement, operations and planning, community involvement, professional development, and innovation.

SPE History
The beginning of SPE return back to 1871 with the establishment of the American Institute of Mining Engineers (AIME) in the US and then it evolved into what it is now after many years.
